Why stay in when you can play outside?

Back I was a crime reporter at a newspaper in Colorado Springs, I had to end every shift with an email to the news desk about what happened that day—which crime scenes I went to, which police officers we needed to chase for new details, which court cases we needed to order from the clerk’s office first thing in the morning, before the judge had the chance to seal them. My night notes were perhaps unnecessarily detailed, so I often dropped in pictures of dogs in sweaters and Easter eggs like, “if you’ve made it this far, congratulations! Please stop by my desk tomorrow for a prize.” I loved writing that email.
Now, as a travel writer, my newsletters are focused on what I do outside of the office. I’ve spent the last four years traveling around the world in search of a place to put down some real roots, and for now it’s London. Out of Office is my little love letter to hiking the England Coast Path, backpacking around the world into places cell service cannot reach, and micro urban adventures, like kayaking the River Lea Navigation, near my house in Hackney, East London.
What can you expect from Out of Office? Hard to say, honestly. But let’s just say it’s always different and often comes when you least expect it.
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
